Tenufa Bakehila is the only organization in Israel that renovates apartments for low-income families free of charge, on a nationwide scale, with professional work teams.
Tenufa Bakehila -Building Hope is committed to eradicating housing poverty in Israel by improving the harsh living conditions of underserved populations across the country and reducing social inequality.
Our national program aims to ensure that every child, adult, and senior can live in safe and dignified housing. We create functional, comfortable, and respectful home environments to improve quality of life—at no cost to the recipients.
Each year, the organization renovates hundreds of homes for families living in unsafe, substandard conditions and lacking basic infrastructure, in 22 municipalities throughout Israel.
All renovation work is carried out free of charge by full-time, salaried professional repair teams employed by the organization. During the process, we also provide social support through a trained social worker from our staff, who works closely with each family to help them move forward on a new path.
